Big Sale Is On - UPDATED 03-26-26

The Big Sale is on but not like originally planned, it is a by appointment type of thing now. Be sure to call before you come to make sure the day isn't already full with peeps scheduled to come in, and make sure what you want is still available.

The steps got the new step treads, bolt clips, + rear fender bumpers put on this morning.  The new certification decal is on the left side guard, and the first ever new Magnum air filter cover decal from my decal guy is on.  I got 2 new NOS shift knobs out of the back for it, they are in the pics as well.  Everything looks great.

Next up was getting it started up.  The panel with the charging gauge, battery, a temporary muffler (it has to have back pressure) was put on, and fuel put in the tank.  A few other little things were finished up and it was time to fire it up.  It runs fine on carb cleaner but not on it's own.  Fuel pump brought fuel to the front in the first few seconds but something is going on in the carb.  Nothing new really, things happen when steam cleaning them sometimes.  Things get pretty hot for awhile when steam cleaning and moisture develops inside things from all the quick heating.  There could be something in the fuel bowl that broke loose and stopped up the main jet or the fuel input valve may be stuck in the seat.

It's already quitting time again so the carb will get removed in the morning to check it out.  Other than that it purs like a kitten, charging system is at 14V, and everything else wiring wise is working like it should.

I took the carb off this morning and there was some rust in it from the heat of the steam cleaner.  It was all cleaned up and polished with 0000 steel wool and it's new inside again.  After that it fired right up, the carb was set, it was run for 20 minutes to check for leaks, and the running part is done.

After that there were some other little things done so all of the panels could go on.  They are all on and all lined up perfect.

It's quitting time again so that's it until next Monday.

Thanks Nappy.

***** QUESTION.  The first pic shows tail lamp options.  I can put LED lights on the back and they are pretty cheap.  The original NOS lamp holder, lens, and felt insulator costs over 10 times the price but they are original and the only ones I've ever seen I have.  I only have 4 of the NOS lenses left so they come at a premium cost as they don't exist.  The original parts are part #8041, 8042, and 8044.  If you search the 8042 lens for instance everyone sells the superseded part #112564 which was used on the newer tractors.  I have them as well but they are a lot taller, not original, and come at a higher cost than the LEDs.  The choice is up to you.

***** QUESTION.  Next thing I ran into is the hood will not close with the magnum plastic cover on it.  The motor is not a problem but the air filter cover as you can see in the pic is a problem.  The best way to remedy this is with a 16HP older K series cover.  The Magnum 14 and the K series 16HP both use the same air filter so the metal cover works perfect on it.  I would just like your approval to do that.
