Big Sale Is On - UPDATED 03-26-26
The Big Sale is on but not like originally planned, it is a by appointment type of thing now. Be sure to call before you come to make sure the day isn't already full with peeps scheduled to come in, and make sure what you want is still available.

I don't have a good idea of when it will be done but at least now I can get back to working on it now that I know the decision on the rear fender.
I asked about the fender because that is what was next. If you wanted the updated fender I would have got a good fender out, a good hood, and painted them along with the steps and side guards that are ready so everything would be from the same batch of paint.
It was just a few days short of a month waiting on that reply and there were a few things I could do that are in the updates in here but then the work stopped and I found other things to do as to not rush you on a decision. When we talked about this on the phone I had said take all the time you need checking on body shops to see if you guys could find someone who would do it and if it took awhile I have tons of other things to do just let me know.
As work is done this post is updated, unless peeps keep me out here till close to or after bed time... I planned on getting ready to start on it again August 4th the day after I got an answer on the fender and started clearing a work bench to do so. It was cleared toward the end of last week but then I had other peeps here from PA last Friday from morning till 3:30PM picking up parts, someone here all day last Sat, and all day today. I never know what a day will bring so I just take one day at a time like I'm supposed to then see what the next day brings. It's only me doing everything here and I often wish I could see the future but oh well...
Anyway, that is the reason I'm not sure when it will be done. There's still a lot to do and pretty much the past month has been mostly down time. When it gets close you will see it in the updates in this post. No one wants it done more than me because with something that nice in the shop it stops a lot of other things I need to do that may cause it harm, even though I keep it covered up.

I'm good to go now but as I said in the last post "I never know what a day will bring so I just take one day at a time like I'm supposed to then see what the next day brings. It's only me doing everything here and I often wish I could see the future but oh well... "
We are in a state of emergency over the weather now. It started Monday night and it's a real mess here. We got more bad storms, lightning, high winds and rain yesterday just during the day than in a month not counting Monday night or last night. It's the worst I've seen in the almost 50 years I've lived here. Nothing is reliable now and the biggest thing is power. There's yet another front coming through here in about 15-30 mins. I guess all that can be done is see what tomorrow brings...

I'm trying to paint the steps and side guards but so far it's impossible. It's almost 85 and 90-95% humidity in the shade by 8:30AM and at lunch today it was over 105 and 50%, (see pic). It's still a swamp around here from all the rain that won't seem to stop and more coming in Monday but I'm watching things closely and will get going on them as soon as humanly possible...

I thought this morning before it got hot would be good but even after a storm dissipates the worst part of it always seems to come through here no matter what...

It's been over 80 with 95% humidity by 8AM or so every morning here for a long time. I wouldn't have believed it no matter what anyone said but early this morning was perfect for painting, 68 degrees, lower humidity, and no wind at all.
More thunderstorms coming in tonight but at least I got some things done in the only good morning we've had in a long long time. Now I can move on and it can rain and storm all it wants...

It’s looking great Gene, we can’t wait to pick it up, do you know when that will be since you started work on it again, or are you still not sure.

I plan on getting back on it full time tomorrow unless peeps show up from who knows where to buy parts, but I won't schedule anything more to actually work on unless it's a very very small and easy job. I had scheduled peeps while waiting on the sheet metal answer and the last one was done today that was scheduled from TN and they are already done and on their way back home.
It's been 3 weeks since I've been off of the property so tomorrow morning I have to make a bank run, fill a forklift propane tank, do a few little errands, and grocery shop. I don't eat much but I'm about out of fridge and freezer food after 3 weeks.
The sheet metal is dried down good enough as of today to put the step treads on and mount all of those panels. As far as finishing only God knows... I depends on tons of things like weather, a piece of equipment going down like the blaster did, family health needs with dad gone, and a lot of other variables that show up. Being a 1 man show with so many things going on I'm really surprised I manage to get the things done that I do get done.

After my neighbor did a lot of steam cleaning on the forklift things get rusty quick from the steam + hot water. I got the forks cleaned and polished back up today and the 121 is back on it so I can get back to work. Don't want impressions or light rust stuck under the frame rails on the tractor, OCD I know and proud of it...
I spent a lot of the day getting some more parts blasted and figured out like the hood hinges in the pic below. A lot of new parts like clips, bumpers, Kohler air filter, plate gasket, and seal (orange piece in the air filter pic) are all out and ready. It's amazing how many small parts are in a job like this one. Steps are out and will get tread material made and mounted first thing tomorrow. I also hope to have it running tomorrow.
There are more pics but they're still on the camera and it's already quitting time again. I'll get them and more progress pics up tomorrow.
