Trailer Reciever Hitch

Just made a receiver hitch for the heavy trailer and thought I would put it on here.  As mentioned before I have to clean out a barn I was using at the farm and there are about 80 or more tractors in it among other things and this will be a nice back saver for loading them all.  Once here the forklift can handle the rest. 

The hitch setup is bolt on and easy to make.  It could even be moved to other trailers if need be, just 4 bolts holding it on.   Drill other trailers for it then it can be moved around.  

The 3" angle iron was overkill but it was an old used piece in the shop that got cleaned up.  The receiver tubes were from new stock, they are all being made here now because they want almost $20 for a 6" premade one and I can make 4 of them for that...    The one used on the trailer was a little short of 6", it's what was leftover from the larger piece.

It was made out of a piece of 3" x 10" x 1/4" angle iron, the leftover 2 1/2" x 5" x 3/16 tube, and 4 grade 9 bolts (overkill lol) to bolt it on.

 

The center bolt toward the front ended up being left out.  I thought it was more important to add a brace in the center like on the sides that was never there.  It's plenty strong enough to pull whatever you want up on the trailer.  Before + after pics below.
