1" X 42" Belt Sander was created by Kurt-NEPA
I finally finish my latest project. A 1" X 42" belt sander. Some call these knife sanders. This thing really works nice - for wood and metal. Especially on small parts. Much better than my 6" X "46 Belt - 12" disc sander

Made according to plans by Matthias Wandell (woodgears.ca).

How cool is that!! looks real hardy. Its a real time saver, I use one when doing any metal work.

Thanks for the kind words guys. This was a nice project. Not expensive if you have a motor (I did).

This sander has four nice features.

1) Deep throat
2) It will sand right up to a corner
3) The platen is easily changed. Insert a round one and you sand the inside of a curve.
4) It has really nice dust collection

If you like homemade tools, take a look at Matthias Wandell's web page ( www.woodgears.ca ). This guy is building his third band saw. This one is a 20 inch. He does some amazing work. Videos are on YouTube.
