Big Sale Has Started - UPDATED 07-31-25 (01 Apr 2025)
As some of you know my dad passed away 2 months ago today, on May 31, 2025. I posted it in the Members Only section when it happened. Thanks to all of you who have offered kind words on the forum, with phone calls, and visits in person during this time.
The Big Sale is on but not like originally planned, it is a by appointment type of thing now. I don't have the manpower, or the desire to do a big event like originally planned, I just need to sell a lot of parts that are taking up too much space here. I have been told and believe we are overloaded with Wheel Horse parts like no one has ever seen. Peeps have already been coming in from different parts of the country and buying a lot of stuff due to seeing the sale page, and seeing we are the only Wheel Horse only business in the USA that does things on the scale we do. The sale will continue for awhile until I free up some more space but you may not want to wait too long as things are being sold every day and there are limits to how many of certain parts will be sold.
As it says on the page it is still under construction and the page isn't finished yet. I've had a ton of calls for parts and the Big Sale Page may help answer some questions about what is here before peeps call. I hope that page is also clear that we DO NOT SHIP anything... This is a by appointment type of thing now. Be sure to call before you come to make sure the day isn't already full with peeps scheduled to come in, and make sure what you want is still available.
What's everybody doing?

Worked on hammering the 36"RD deck spindles a little (they moved slightly so more soaking) the new front hitch setup, and had a bunch of oil come in I've been waiting for. I always look around to see what's going on with some of these oils and the SAE 140W and SAE 40W is still getting harder to find. The 40W will be around a while longer from Delo but the SAE 140W is getting really tight. Ultra Plus says they'll be making it for awhile but I brought in 10 extra gallons and will keep more of it around than usual just in case.
A lot of Wheel Horse rearends call for 40W motor oil (not multi grade), and a lot of them call for 140W. They DO NOT call for 75W-140, 80W-140, or 85W-140 which are more popular and readily available because of a lot of vehicle applications. The multi weights are not as good for higher pressures, especially higher shear pressure. This also translates into more frequent changes. I got my training from Amsoil over 30 years ago and they give a good education. I'm also still an Amsoil Dealer and keep up with this stuff. When it comes to the straight 90 recommended in some rearends a 80W90 will work just fine and has the same properties. They also all need to be an API GL5 spec.
I'm not being OCD here, Wheel Horse made and designed these transmissions and know what is best. I just trust them and don't rely on what I or other peeps "think" is alright. I give the tractor what it wants and do the same with vehicles. It also keeps me from the liability of being responsible if something fails. I think I'll start an oil usage post in the tractor section getting into more detail when I get a min.
Didn't mean to get into oil education, I just get carried away sometimes lol. There are pics below if anyone is interested in the correct fluids and how to do things the way Wheel Horse says they should be done.

My friend Kevin is coming up tomorrow along with someone to buy a Sunstrand pump for a C-160 so I'll be on but won't post till next week. Everyone have a good weekend and hopefully it will be warmer where you are than here in the screenshot below.

Started on the first of 3 42SD decks today. One is done minus the outer spindle pulleys are stuck pretty bad. The rest of the parts and all the spindles are good so I'm trying to save them. I also need to find out who's been welding on this thing so I can take their welder away.

The last one is on the forklift for tomorrow. Some of it has been welded solid so it will take a little more time to cut it apart...

Everything was saved, a lot of parts are put up on the pallets where they go, and I've already got a start on blasting the pulleys and small parts that go in fastenal drawers. Next job is to try to clear the small welding table tomorrow if time allows so I can get it out from under the rack and raise a wing to start on the tiller restore. I love getting more caught up with what I need to do that's already here.

I found another use for the now multi function tester (originally named rearend tester). It's great to spin up a tiller and use the hand held sander to clean up the shafts. It was nothing fancy as you can see in the pics. The belt jumped around but never came off or slipped. After it was done I got out a pulley to stop the belt from jumping around for the next job just in case.
Tiller is now on the table and ready for tear down. Maybe I can get a start on it tomorrow.

Trying to take the last 30 mins at the end of each day when possible to do some little things around the shop that I'm behind on. Today was vac up the metal filings on the mill and lathe, put a new Wheel Horse decal on the vise I damaged a few months ago, clean and polish the forks on the forklift, and clean and polish the magvise. It's not much but it makes me feel good to see things clean.
