Raider 12 Refresh

We just got started on this one, it's a 1970 raider 12. Someone already replaced the Tecky with a Kohler 12 off of a Ford it seems, that's ok, at least it's a Kohler lol.

We started on this one about a year ago and couldn't remember why it didn't get finished. When Sandra was washing it again I noticed both back wheels spun in the same direction and remembered I wanted the posi rear end out of it so it got pushed to the back. The rear end was swapped yesterday and it will be going into a tractor we're going to keep.

Yes it was. They were an 11 pinion and very hard to find, of all the tractors we've done that is the only one we've found so far. I'm hoping there may be others that we haven't checked yet that are posi.

Got the new rear end in with all new seals and the engine painted last night. A little more sanding and cleaning and it will be time to start on the red.

speaking of seals I replaced the new ones I put in with more new ones and now its not leaking anywhere.....posi makes sense to me and I wonder if I could make mine like that?

Glad the leaks are fixed. It would be easier to change the whole transmission, there are too many hard to find parts to change one over inside.

The undersides are painted.

Red is all done, just in time for supper.
